Do you walk through life really not noticing what is going on around you?  If so you are putting yourself at risk.

Whether you are walking into a car park, store or bank, take a few moments to look around you.  Assess the situation.  Are there any people acting in an odd manner?  What noises can you hear?  Are there people crowding into one area?  Is someone drunk or acting in a menacing way?

Make sure you position yourself for your best safety and know where the nearest exit lies.  Take yourself out of any iffy situations.  The best defense is to leave.
