Extra closed circuit cameras and more police patrols are part of the Adelaide City Council's strategy to deter night violence in and around Gouger Street.
Last night the council approved an eight-point plan for the precinct to improve safety in the area.
In October the council launched a review of city safety after three shootings in Gouger Street this year.
The Lord Mayor, Michael Harbison, says the council needs to ensure the restaurant strip continues to be a popular place for families.
"Well it's certainly a great concern to everybody by the events that have happened recently and it's important that we all work together to ensure that Gouger Street continues to be the safe, wonderful dining place we want it to be," he said.
